Sponsor | Denise-R | Jan 30, 5:19pm | | I've been reading some message boards about this problem, because my (macbook) battery isn't recharging when plugged in. Overheating is also a widely identified problem. Most people say they've got courtesy replacements. I'm off to the apple store tomorrow. A recall would have been nice... |

| royandroy | Feb 2, 9:06am | | Don't underestimate Apple. I had a problem with my 3 year old eMac and after checking a head office memo re: this issue (I didn't ask, they told me!) they replaced the motherboard for free! Try that with Microsoft et al. |

| Katz82 | Feb 3, 3:25pm | Well I'm happy to say, even with an expired warranty, I am getting a replacement battery - free of charge. Hopefully this won't happen again, the overheating. The guy at the apple store said it shouldn't need a cooling pad - which I'm not sure how it has anything to do with the battery in the first place.. we'll see! :o)
I didn't get the battery in the store, they actually ship it. Here's the link to get your replacement battery online. Couldn't have been easier:
